Kamdhenu Card

Kamadhenu Card

2019 has been an exciting year for us and as it comes to a close, we wanted to wrap it up with something extra special.

Wedding cards are always a personal journey for us – getting to know the couple, the families, their likes and dislikes, their interests and above all the love story. What makes this card even more special is that the bride is a very dear friend and has also been an integral part of the Design Dimensions team for many years. For her big day, the entire studio got together adding a little something here and there, helping out in whichever way they could.

Kamadhenu Card

This card is a continuation of our series of wedding cards inspired by Indian Art, where we have taken inspiration from the Pichwai style of art and combined its love for cows in this modern rendition of the Kamdhenu.

Wedding Invitation Cards

Intricate gold foiling on a pastel palette is the foundation of this card. Traditional, elegant and classy is what the bride wanted, and this is the final outcome.

Wedding Cards

The central theme of this card is Kamdhenu. Kamdhenu also known as Surabhi is a divine bovine-goddess considered to be the mother of all cows in Hinduism. Kamdhenu is considered to be a sacred cow which grants all wishes and desires. Thus, holding an important value in Indian Hindu weddings. Kamdhenu has been used extensively across the inserts to tie the theme together.

Kamadhenu Card

Pichwai is one of the most spectacular and ancient forms of art with its origins dating back to around 400 years ago, in the town of Nathdwara near Udaipur in Rajasthan, India. Intricate and visually stunning, pichwai paintings, made on cloth, depict tales from Lord Krishna’s life and the cow is a central character in most paintings. The Kamdhenu is thus a “popular and enduring image in Indian art”

Wedding Invitation Cards

The wedding programme was made to match the main invitation and carried the same colour palette of moss green and orange.
